Rendered Kitchen & Entryway

During my Technology Associate Program Internship at the Shell Visualization Center University of Wyoming in 2020/21 I had the opportunity to build a kitchen and entryway in Blender. This project was able to teach me the ins and outs of Blender, along with the Substance Painter input.

This project took me an entire semester, yet I still want to continue to add onto it. I learned a great deal about texture maps, lighting and scaling. This project allowed me to jump into UX design head first. I had struggles along the way with figuring out how the inputs worked, how to import textures correctly and for them to be as realistic as possible. I also learned a lot about the render capacity of a desktop compared to my little laptop. In the future I would like to try rendering this in Keyshot.

To this day I still believe this is one of my biggest accomplishments in Blender and in UX design. I strive to push this project further and create more like this one. Below are a few other examples of my UX design work.

Stage Design: Oculus

My love for stage design started in 2018 when I saw one of my favorite artists play at Red Rocks. They had brought an amazing production. In that moment I decided I wanted to change my major to Graphic Design to get closer to this world.

I started designing and sketching stages to see what I was capable of. During my Technology Associate Program Internship at the Shell Visualization Center University of Wyoming in 2020/21 I was able to really test my skills. This was my first portfolio project I worked on during my internship. I modeled every part of the stage including the structural parts in Blender. I was able to animate the lights and add in fire. I pushed this stage to the limits.

I was able to learn a lot about functions and animation functions in Blender, such as the fire function. I also learned that it was extremely hard to render on a smaller capacity computer. After building a few different stage designs especially this one I still feel as though I have many more in the tank. Below are a few other examples of my UX design work.
